WHAT IS VAGINAL PRP?

Regenerative care that starts with you.

Platelets are best known for clotting, but they also carry growth factors that signal tissue to repair, build new small blood vessels and produce collagen. In vaginal PRP, a concentrated layer of your own plasma is applied to the vaginal wall and, where indicated, the clitoral area, with the aim of improving tissue quality, blood flow and sensitivity.

At our clinic it is offered as PRP O-Shot® Female: a 30-minute, doctor-led procedure performed under topical anaesthesia, usually as part of a broader intimate health plan rather than on its own.

  • Autologous

Made from your own blood, so the risk of allergy or rejection is very low.

  • Blood flow

Growth factors support new micro-vessels, linked to sensitivity and natural lubrication.

  • Tissue quality

Aims to improve thin, dry or less elastic tissue, often seen after childbirth or menopause.

  • Little downtime

Most women return to daily activities the same day.

HOW VAGINAL PRP WORKS

From one blood sample to your treatment, in four steps.

Private consultation

Your doctor reviews your symptoms, gynaecological and hormonal history, medicines and goals, and checks whether PRP is appropriate — or whether another option, such as vaginal hydration or BHRT, would suit you better.

WHO MAY BENEFIT

Choose the concern that sounds most like yours.

An honest guide to where vaginal PRP may help — and where the evidence is still developing.

Dryness and thinning tissue

Common with menopause and lower oestrogen (genitourinary syndrome of menopause). Small studies report improvements in vaginal health scores after PRP. It is often combined with vaginal hydration or hormonal care.

WHAT THE EVIDENCE SAYS

Promising, honest, and still evolving.

A 2023 systematic review in Biomedicines pooled 11 studies and 327 women treated with PRP for sexual dysfunction or stress urinary incontinence. Scores for sexual function, vaginal health and leakage improved, but the authors rated the overall level of evidence as low and called for larger randomised trials.

That is why we present vaginal PRP as an option worth discussing — never as a guaranteed cure.

  • FSFI

    Sexual function

Improved Female Sexual Function Index scores in prospective studies.

  • VHI

    Vaginal health

Better Vaginal Health Index scores: moisture, elasticity and tissue quality.

  • SUI

    Urinary leakage

Lower leakage questionnaire scores, including in one randomised trial.

  • !

    Limits

Small studies, different protocols and few controlled trials: results vary between women.

QUESTIONS

Vaginal PRP, answered.

How much does vaginal PRP cost in Seychelles?

At Victoria Aesthetics, the PRP O-Shot® Female costs SCR 5,200 per session, and the intimate health consultation is SCR 900. Combined plans are quoted after your assessment.

Does vaginal PRP hurt?

A numbing cream is applied beforehand and very fine needles are used. Most women describe brief pressure or stinging rather than pain.

How many sessions will I need?

Many women have one session; some benefit from a second after four to six weeks. Your doctor will advise based on your response, and maintenance, if any, is usually yearly.

When will I notice results?

Some changes can be felt within a few weeks, while tissue remodelling continues for around three months. Results vary and cannot be guaranteed.

Is vaginal PRP safe?

Because PRP is prepared from your own blood, the risk of allergy is very low. Temporary swelling, tenderness or spotting can occur, and infection is uncommon when sterile technique is used.

Who performs vaginal PRP Seychelles patients book at the clinic?

Our physicians, under the direction of Dr. Eric Licea, founder and medical director, perform the procedure after a private consultation.

Can PRP replace hormone therapy?

No. PRP works locally on tissue, while hormone therapy addresses the cause of many menopausal symptoms. For some women the two are combined.

How do I book?
