Vaginal laxity after childbirth
A common reason women ask for the laser. Collagen remodelling can improve the feeling of tightness; pelvic floor exercises remain important alongside it.

Laser vaginal tightening Seychelles women can access without surgery: the Athenea 360 intimate laser gently heats the vaginal tissue to stimulate collagen, in a 30-minute appointment with no anaesthesia and no downtime — always after a gynaecological assessment.

WHAT IS LASER VAGINAL TIGHTENING?
Childbirth, hormonal changes, menopause, ageing, weight changes and some surgeries can leave the vaginal tissue looser, thinner or drier. Many women notice less sensation during intimacy, discomfort, or small leaks when they cough or exercise — and few talk about it.
The Athenea 360 intimate laser delivers controlled energy through a slim handpiece. The gentle heat triggers the tissue’s own repair response: new collagen and elastic fibres, better blood flow and moisture. Externally, it can also refresh the texture and tone of the vulva and introitus.

Collagen remodelling for a firmer vaginal wall.
Better blood flow and natural lubrication.
Aims to improve friction, sensation and comfort.
No anaesthesia, back to normal the same day.
HOW IT WORKS
Tiny, controlled laser points warm the tissue. Over the following weeks, fibroblasts lay down new collagen and elastin and small blood vessels multiply. This illustration shows the principle; results build gradually for around three months.
YOUR TREATMENT PLAN
A private consultation with a routine gynaecological examination — and a cervical smear if it is due — to confirm the laser is right for you.
About 15 minutes of laser with no anaesthesia. You may feel gentle warmth or vibration; mild swelling or redness settles quickly.
Repeated four weeks apart, as collagen builds. Many women notice better firmness and comfort after the second session.
The final result develops over about three months. A single maintenance session is usually advised once a year.

WHO SHOULD CONSIDER IT?
An honest guide to where the laser may help, and where another option might be better.
A common reason women ask for the laser. Collagen remodelling can improve the feeling of tightness; pelvic floor exercises remain important alongside it.
See Vaginal PRPThe laser may improve tone and blood flow. Sensation and arousal also depend on hormones and wellbeing, which we review together.
See BHRT for womenSome studies report fewer leaks with coughing or exercise after laser. Pelvic floor physiotherapy is first-line; more severe leakage needs a urogynaecology assessment.
See Vaginal PRPFor menopausal dryness, a sham-controlled trial found the laser no better than placebo at 12 months. Vaginal hydration or hormonal care is usually the better first choice.

See Pain ManagementWHAT THE EVIDENCE SAYS
Vaginal lasers are widely used and many women report feeling better, but the research is mixed. A 2021 sham-controlled trial published in JAMA found that three laser sessions did not improve postmenopausal vaginal symptoms more than placebo after 12 months.
In 2018 the US FDA also warned that the safety and effectiveness of energy-based devices for vaginal “rejuvenation” had not been established. That is why we assess every woman first, explain realistic expectations, and recommend the laser only where it makes sense.
Laser versus sham for postmenopausal vaginal symptoms, followed for 12 months.
No significant difference versus sham at one year; other treatments come first.
Smaller studies report benefit for tightness and mild stress incontinence.
Assessment first, realistic goals, and alternatives always discussed.

At Victoria Aesthetics, a single session costs SCR 2,800 and the recommended pack of three sessions is SCR 7,200.
Most women feel gentle warmth or vibration. No anaesthesia is needed, and the laser part takes about 15 minutes.
Usually three sessions, four weeks apart; some women are happy after one or two. A single maintenance session is generally advised once a year.
Some women feel a difference soon after the first session, but new collagen takes about three months to form, so the full result develops gradually. Results vary between women.
No. Laser vaginal tightening is a non-surgical treatment without cuts or stitches. Surgical vaginoplasty is a different operation for more significant laxity.
You can return to daily life straight away. Avoid intercourse, sport, swimming, baths, tampons and vaginal products for 48 hours.
Our doctors, Dr. Eric Licea and Dr. Maria Rey Quintana, perform the assessment and every laser session.
Often another treatment comes first. A sham-controlled trial found the laser no better than placebo for menopausal vaginal symptoms at 12 months, so we usually recommend vaginal hydration or hormonal care.
