CHEMICAL PEELS · MONT FLEURI, MAHÉ

Chemical peels in Seychelles. Take off the damaged layer, keep the skin.

Chemical peels use a professional-grade solution, applied at our clinic in Seychelles, to lift dead and damaged cells so that healthier skin comes through: brighter tone, smoother texture, fewer marks. The whole art is choosing a depth your skin can take, which under this sun is a shorter list than most clinics admit.

  • Depth matched to your phototype
  • Priming before, sun protection after
  • Supervised by Dr. Eric Licea · face, neck or décolletage

DEPTH DECIDES EVERYTHING

Three depths, three different conversations.

Peels are classified by how far into the skin they work. The deeper a peel goes, the more it can change and the more downtime and risk it carries. Select a depth to see where it reaches, what it answers and what it costs you in recovery.

Most of what we do in Seychelles sits in the superficial range, repeated as a course. It is the safest way to treat pigmentation and texture on skin that lives under tropical light.

Superficial peels

Work on the outermost layers with gentle acids: glycolic, lactic, mandelic or salicylic. They brighten, smooth and refresh with little to no downtime, and they need a course to build results.

THE ACTIVE

The acid is chosen for your problem, not for the menu.

Medical grade

  • GLYCOLIC ACID

    Dullness and uneven tone

The most widely used superficial agent. It loosens the bond between dead cells for even exfoliation and stimulates the fibroblasts underneath. Used for photoageing, fine lines and uneven tone.

  • SALICYLIC ACID

    Oily and acne-prone skin

Oil-soluble, so it works inside the pore rather than only on the surface. The choice for blackheads, congestion, enlarged pores and inflammatory acne.

  • MANDELIC ACID

    Pigment, on darker skin

A larger molecule that penetrates slowly and evenly, which is exactly why it suits melasma, post-inflammatory marks, sensitive skin and higher phototypes.

  • LACTIC ACID

    Dry and sensitive skin

The gentlest of the alpha-hydroxy acids, and humectant with it. Used for dehydrated, reactive skin that has lost radiance but cannot tolerate a stronger active.

  • JESSNER’S SOLUTION

    The all-rounder

A combination of salicylic and lactic acids with resorcinol. Used for mild photodamage, acne-prone skin and rough texture, and as the first step of a medium-depth protocol.

  • TCA

    Focal and medium-depth work

Trichloroacetic acid, at low concentration for sun spots and at higher concentration for medium-depth resurfacing. On darker skin it is used at lower strength, carefully, or not at all.

Peels are priced by agent, area and course length, and confirmed at your consultation. VA Wellness Club members receive 10% off aesthetic treatments and can pay with their VA Beauty SCR balance.

TROPICAL SKIN

A peel is only as good as the sunscreen that follows it.

Why depth changes with phototype

SKIN OF COLOUR

The rule we do not bend.

On higher phototypes, the complication that matters is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation: the skin darkens where it was treated, and the patient ends up worse than before. It is prevented by patient selection, by priming the skin beforehand and by meticulous sun protection afterwards.

So the protocol here stays in the superficial range, medium depth only where it is clearly justified, and never a deep peel on dark skin. Superficial glycolic, salicylic and mandelic peels are very unlikely to cause problems, and they treat acne, hyperpigmentation and melasma well.

Before: priming

  • Two to four weeks of daily broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher.
  • Gentle cleansing, and a brightening agent where indicated.
  • Stop retinoids about a week beforehand.
  • A small test area first, especially when treating pigmentation.

After: protection

  • Strict sun avoidance and daily sunscreen for two to four weeks.
  • A bland emollient while the skin is flaking.
  • Do not pick or pull at peeling skin. This is how marks are made.
  • No scrubs, acids or retinoids until we clear you.

YOUR SESSION

Cleanse, apply, neutralise, protect.

30 to 60 minutes

  1. 01

    Assessment and priming

We look at phototype, pigment history, sun exposure and what you are using at home, then set a priming regimen before the first peel. Skipping this step is what causes most bad outcomes.

  2. 02

    Preparation

The skin is cleansed and degreased so the acid penetrates evenly. Uneven preparation means uneven results, and on pigmented skin uneven results show.

  3. 03

    Application

The solution goes on in controlled layers and stays for a defined contact time. Expect warmth and tingling. The endpoint is watched rather than timed blindly.

  4. 04

    Neutralisation

Agents that do not self-neutralise are stopped deliberately, then the skin is soothed and sunscreen is applied before you leave the room.

  5. 05

    The days after

Superficial peels give tightness and light flaking for a day or two. Medium peels involve about a week of visible peeling. You will know which you are having before you book it.

  6. 06

    The course

Superficial peels build their result over a series, spaced two to four weeks apart, with maintenance afterwards. One peel is a glow; a course is a change.

WHAT IT ANSWERS

Four reasons people book a peel.

Face, neck, décolletage

  • Chemical peels in Seychelles for dull skin

    Dullness and texture

Dead surface cells lifted away, so light reflects off skin again. The most popular reason, and the fastest to show.

  • Acne and marks

    Acne and its marks

Salicylic acid clears the pore from inside; repeated sessions fade the brown marks that breakouts leave behind on tropical skin.

  • Fine lines

    Pigmentation and sun damage

Sun spots, melasma and uneven tone, treated by speeding up the shedding of pigment-laden cells rather than bleaching them.

  • Event preparation

    Before an event

Booked as a course that finishes well before the date, never the week of it. Ask us about timing at the consultation.

A peel resurfaces. It does not lift, does not fill and does not relax muscle. Deep lines, lost volume and laxity belong to other treatments, and we will point you to them instead of stacking peels that cannot get there.

MEMBERSHIPS & REWARDS

Peels reward regulars, and so does the Club.

A course of peels is exactly the kind of repeated treatment membership was built for: 10% off aesthetic treatments, priority appointments, and 100% of your monthly fee banked as VA Beauty SCR.

What patients say.

The compliment we want is not about the peel. It is about the tone of the skin two months later.

  • “He refused to go deeper than my skin could take. My tone is even for the first time.”

  • “Three days of flaking, then the marks from old breakouts had faded.”

  • “They insisted on four weeks of sunscreen first. Now I understand why.”

  • “Lunchtime appointment, back at my desk, glowing by the weekend.”

QUESTIONS

Before you book.

Will my skin actually peel?

With a superficial peel, often only lightly, and sometimes not visibly at all. That is not a failed treatment: the exfoliation happens whether or not you see flakes. Medium-depth peels involve about a week of visible peeling.

Are chemical peels in Seychelles safe on dark skin?

Superficial peels are, and they treat acne, hyperpigmentation and melasma well on darker phototypes. Medium depth is used selectively and at lower concentrations. Deep peels are not performed on skin of colour, here or anywhere responsible.

How many sessions do I need?

Superficial peels work as a course, spaced two to four weeks apart, with maintenance afterwards. The number depends on the concern, and we agree it before the first appointment rather than selling packages up front.

Does it hurt?

You will feel warmth, tingling and sometimes a short sting as the acid works. It is brief, controlled and stopped deliberately. Nothing is left on the skin longer than planned.

What should I stop before my appointment?

Retinoids about a week before, plus scrubs, waxing and hair removal creams on the area. Tell us about oral acne treatment, cold sores and any recent sun exposure, all of which change the plan.

Can I have one before a holiday or a wedding?

Before, yes. The week of, no. Peels and strong sun are a bad combination, and the skin needs time to settle. Bring us the date and we will work backwards from it.

Can I have a peel while pregnant?

Some agents are avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tell us at the consultation and we will either adjust the protocol or postpone it.

Consultation is key. Your phototype, your agent and your course are agreed face to face before anything is applied.
